AMARCORD SAMAÈVAR - VISITA AL CIMITERO MILITARE CANADESE DI VILLANOVA

Buongiorno a tutti gli amici del gruppo “Canadians in the Italian Campaign in Word War II” in particolare a Don Orth e a Mariangela Rondinelli.

Siamo rimasti colpiti dal post pubblicato il 28 maggio da Daniele Piselli riguardante i due fratelli dei Cape Breton Highlanders ALEXANDER JAMES e KEITH MABIN MCLEAN.

I due fratelli hanno perso la vita per liberare la nostra amata Italia dalla dittatura fascista e nazista, e sono sepolti insieme nel VILLANOVA CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY.

Non immagino lo sgomento e la disperazione dei genitori e dei familiari di questi due eroi che hanno dato la loro vita per la nostra libertà.

Domenica 8 giugno nel pomeriggio sono nel paese di Alfonsine e ho deciso di andare al CIMITERO MILITARE CANADESE di VILLANOVA, rendere omaggio a tutti i soldati Canadesi sepolti, porterò sulla tomba dei due fratelli MC LEAN un FIORE, la BANDIERA CANADESE e la BANDIERA ITALIANA.

Chiedo se tra i partecipanti di questo gruppo c’è qualche parente dei soldati eroi  sepolti nel VILLANOVA CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY, porterò anche a loro un ricordo.

Onore e rispetto per tutti i soldati Canadesi, quelli che sono ritornati a casa dai loro cari, ma soprattutto quelli che purtroppo sono rimasti qui con noi.

Non dobbiamo e non possiamo dimenticare.

Good morning to all the friends of the group “Canadians in the Italian Campaign in World War II” in particular to Don Orth and Mariangela Rondinelli.

We were struck by the post published on May 28 by Daniele Piselli regarding the two brothers of the Cape Breton Highlanders ALEXANDER JAMES and KEITH MABIN MCLEAN.

The two brothers lost their lives to liberate our beloved Italy from the fascist and nazi dictatorship, and are buried together in the VILLANOVA CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY.

I cannot imagine the dismay and despair of the parents and relatives of these two heroes who gave their lives for our freedom.

Sunday 8th June in the afternoon I am in the town of Alfonsine and I decided to go to the CANADIAN MILITARY CEMETERY of VILLANOVA, pay homage to all the Canadian soldiers buried, I will bring to their grave of the two MC LEAN brothers a FLOWER, the CANADIAN FLAG and the ITALIAN FLAG.

I ask if among the participants of this group there is any relative of the hero soldiers buried in the VILLANOVA CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY, I will also bring them a memory.

I take some photographs that I publish on the group.

Honor and respect for all Canadian soldiers, those who have returned home to their loved ones, but above all those who unfortunately remained here with us.

We must not and cannot forget.
